Beloved Scotsman Billy Connolly will embark on an 11-city tour of Australia early next year.

Originally afolk singer and banjo player in the Humblebums with Gerry Rafferty (later ofBaker Streetfame),Connolly moved onto comedy and first became a household name in the early ’70s after appearing onParkinson. Since then,Connolly has spent the past four decades touring the world (first visiting Australia in 1978) and appearing in a plethora of television series and movies, includingLemony Snicket’sA Series of Unfortunate Events,Gulliver’s Travels(with Jack Black), Peter Jackson’sThe Hobbitfilms and more.

He’ll hit the Sydney Opera House, Concert Hall on Friday February 6 and Saturday February 7. Tickets go on sale on Thursday October 23
