Carriageworks, in partnership with Mona Foma, will bringMathieu Briand’s interactive turntable bonanza to Sydney.

Matthieu Briand’s : ][SYS*11.MIE>ABE/SOS\][SYS*10][][ AKA THE SPIRALis set to give Sydneysiders the chance to immerse themselves in waves of rolling sound and ambiance.

Pragmatically the Carriageworks space will host five turntables that will be playing samples on an endless loop. Audiences are encouraged to intervene through their own inexperienced or expert hands to create a sonic chaos that is simultaneously cut to vinyl.

Visitors are invited to manipulate the looping beats and electronic sounds, becoming themselves the main attraction of the exhibit. Audiences may watch on the chairs that form a spiral around the main turntable decks.

The Spiral is coming to Carriageworks Wednesday June 1 – Monday June 13.
