In honour of the legendary Queen frontman’s 70th birthday, Freddie Mercury’s best friend and personal assistant, Peter Freestone will tour Australia for a series of intimate speaking evenings, hitting up Sydney along the way.
You’re My Best Friend: An Evening With Peter Freestone is set to be an intimate evening of personal stories, rare photos and unheard audio, with an audience Q&A covering the 12 years that Freestone spent living and working with Mercury.
After meeting in 1979, the pair formed an immediate friendship that would see Freestone travel the globe alongside Queen and act as Mercury’s personal assistant right up until his untimely death in 1991.
Freestone has since gone on to author the memoir, Freddie Mercury, and has regularly appeared at AIDS awareness events and Queen fan conventions.
