Vivid Sydney has just announced the program for its 2017 festival of light. And for the first time, Barangaroo has been added to the illuminated list.

This year’s program will brighten up even more of Sydney’s beloved cityscape. Our Instagram feeds will have more variety than ever with the announcement that Barangaroo will join the bill for the first time, telling the story of the precinct through interactive artwork and optical illusions.

Building upon old favourites, the sails of the Sydney Opera House will once again transform in front of our eyes thanks to cinematographer and graphic designer Ash Bolland.

Last year’s hugely successful display in the Royal Botanic Garden will be expanded even further. The harbourside light walk will feature Birds of Lumos, a display inspired New Zealand’s Kiwi birds.

Vivid Sydney 2017’s light walk will wind its way all throughout Sydney over 23 huge nights, from Friday May 26 to Saturday June 17. For the full Vivid Sydney program, including music, ideas and more, visit the official website.
