A night of immersive culture, talks and art surrounding pertinent First Nations issues is coming to the iconic Sydney Opera House onBennelong Point, previously known as Tubowgule and a meeting place for the local Gadigal people for thousands of years.

The Homeground Talks event, a mixture of interactive panel events and innovative arts pieces, will feature prominent artists, leaders and academics includingMarcia Langton AM, musicianDavid Bridie,Rosalie Kunoth-Monks OAMand Maori activistTame Iti. The event seeks to faciliate and promote a space for the passionate and reasoneddebating on economic opportunity and sovereignty for indigenous people.

Issues around mining, alternative business models, treaty, native title and sovereignty remain hot topics and the Homeground event is set to dive head first into this discourse seeking partnership, understanding and progress.

In partnership with the Homeground night, a prolific art project will beunveiled called Songlines. Lauded asan immersive artwork by six Aboriginal artists, the Opera House’s famous sails will be animated as part ofVivid LIVEandVivid Sydney, the world’s largest festival of light, music and ideas.

A night of collaboration and thought-provoking ideas is sure to be ushered in with the Homeground event.
