Artist Susan O’Doherty makes a statement with her new works.

Mixed media artist O’Doherty will open her new exhibition Pinned To The Wall to highlight domestic violence and inequality within the family. By using discarded domestic items, she hopes to stimulate important conversations about family dynamics.

O’Doherty aims to put a face to the name and stories to the statistics by humanising everyday objects. Three years in the making, this collection will tell a story as you move through it, as the facade slips and the home becomes a darker place.

The Hon. Penny Sharp MLC will officially open the exhibition at the launch party on Wednesday November 23, 6-8pm. The exhibition will run until Sunday December 4 before heading up to Coffs Harbour in March. Pinned To The Wall features at Spot 81 Gallery, Chippendale.
