Sydney’s streets are set to be transformed this November as 30 life-sized raffia ‘horses’ dance their way through town.

The choreographed performance is the latest from acclaimed American artist Nick Cave and features 60local dancers in horse “sound suits” of brightly coloured raffia and recycled materials.

The dancers will don the sound suits, whichproduce a distinctive swoosh sound, and transform into a spirited herd of horses, each with their own distinctive personality. Lord Mayor of Sydney, Clover Moore, says projects like Heard throw the spotlight on its local arts and culture scene and help make Sydney a vibrant city everyone can enjoy.

Heardwill bein the centre of the city on Thursday November 10 and Redfern’s Carriageworks on Saturday November 12.
