The acclaimed playwright and director Robert Wilson is to present a special keynote address on the occassion of the Sydney Festival’s 40th anniversary.

One of the most prolific personalities in his field, Wilson, over the course of his 40-year career, has worked in multiple positions within the arts and is perhaps best known for his collaboration with composer Philip Glass onEinstein On The Beach.

The renowned visual artist is set to discuss the important topic of arts festivals’ place in today’s society as well as his own body of work and professional collaborations.

Sydney Festival will also host an exclusive ticketed event after Wilson’s address with the proceeds going to support Wilson’s free talk, Art Festivals: The Long and Winding Road.

Robert Wilson’s inaugural address takes place at Sydney Opera House’s Drama Theatreon Wednesday January 6.
