The Vivid Ideas program will host more than 200 events to get you thinking in 2017.

Part of the Vivid Sydney festival, Vivid Ideas is a set of conferences and talks focusing on the changing face of creative industries. American artist Shepard Fairey will headline this year’s lineup of creative thinkers.

Fairey is renowned for his HOPE poster, the famous image aligned with Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign. He is also behind the OBEY GIANT art project and many other iconic pieces of popular culture. The artist will hold a talk on his approach to street culture and create a public mural live in Sydney’s CBD.

A series of conferences will be held all throughout the city with the aim of connecting emerging talent. In one highlight, the Museum of Contemporary Art will host the Vivid Ideas Exchange, a schedule of talks covering everything from fashion and big data to ageism.
