Our friends over in America sure know how to cook up a barbecue, and one of their finest talents is making his way to Sydney next week.

Rodney Scott, a South Carolina BBQ pitmaster renowned for his Deep South slow-cooked whole pig creations at Scott’s Bar-B-Que, will visit Harpoon Harry’s public bar for two days only.

Scott will be in town at the invitation of his friend Morgan McGlone, the Australian chef who’s recently started his residency at Harry’s, and the two-day event is sure to be an authentic (and tasty) Deep South BBQ experience.

Recently, food docomaker Anthony Bourdain visited Scott with the question, “Is this the country’s best barbecue?” and now Sydneysiders will be able to find out for themselves.

Rodney Scott takes over Harpoon Harry’s on Sunday May 15 (3pm until sold out) and Monday May 16 (6pm until sold out). Get in quick!
