Covid-induced lockdown sparked a renaissance of playing games with your friends. I couldn’t tell you the last time my friends and I played a game together in the pre-Zoom era. Now we can’t get enough of poker.
I’m sure I’m not alone when I say that many of us have made our way through endless rounds of Mafia, trivia, Cards Against Humanity, Pictionary and more. Though always pleasant there’s a side to the psyche that demands that the stakes be raised. We all want to LARP our little Rounders fantasy.
I have nothing but disdain for official gambling venues. I reckon the Star Casino should be burnt to the ground. Though I see no harm in a poker evening amongst friends.
Debut your finest table cloth, put together a little antipasto grazing platter, don your best smoking suit. It’s a little silly, a little frivolous and a lot of fun.
We’re such staunch advocates of this renewed interest in card games that we want to supply you with all the alcohol you’ll need to elevate this little poker gathering to a full-blown soiree.
