Will Smith reunites with the cast of ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ to officially announce reunion special airing on HBO Max.

Time to bring out your Carlton dance moves and get swinging, the Fresh Prince of Bel-air is returning. It’s been 30 years since the show first aired on TV and has since become a household name with a theme-song you can’t help but dance to.

Actor and singer, Will Smith took to Instagram to share an image of the reunited 1990s cast back on set. He also acknowledged the late James Avery. The post said “Today is exactly 30 YEARS since The @FreshPrince of Bel-Air debuted! So we’re doin’ something for y’all… a for real Banks Family Reunion is comin’ soon to @HBOmax! RIP James. #FreshPrince30th”. The show ran from September 10th, 1990 to May 1996 featuring 148 episodes.

This is not the first time Will Smith has shown his eagerness to continue the ‘Fresh Prince’ train. Just last year the celebrity created his ‘Bel-Air Athletics‘ line, showing off some retro garment’s fresh out of the show. We’re hoping these will be making a return with this new special, any excuse to throwback to some 90s fashion.

The post comes just two days after the announcement of a new reimagined drama of Bel-air being picked up by Peacock for a 2 season line up and being produced by Smith’s company; Westbrook Studios.

Smith announced the new show deal in an Instagram video talking with Morgan Cooper, the creator of the dramatised ‘Bel-Air’. The new show will feature a more serious tone and recreation of the 90’s hit sitcom, delving deeper into the characters’ relationships and conflicts.

The HBO Max reunion special is expected to air November of this year. It’s the perfect excuse to do a re-watch of the hit TV show.

While we’re all eagerly waiting to catch this reunion special, check out the famed trailer for Bel-Air.
