Sydney community radio station FBi has announced the redevelopment of its Redfern studios to introduce a new in-house live-to-air performance space.

In partnership with the Jack Daniel’s Future Legends initiative, FBi has welcomed into the fold designer Bob Barton (Golden Age Cinema & Bar, The Commons) to build the new room, which will not only host llve music for the radio station itself but also serve as an event space. It follows the closure of the FBi Social space in Kings Cross.

FBi Radio music director Stephen Goodhew said in a release: “It’s great to be working with Jack Daniel’s Future Legends on the refit of the space as we’re both committed to supporting and championing emerging talent. The new space will enable us to do just that, as we’ll be able to facilitate live to air performances for the first time ever. As a result, our listeners will be able to enjoy more exclusive content and will have the chance to get to know the station and the artists we feature, a little more intimately.”

FBi Radio‘s new space is expected to be complete in the next fortnight.
