We’re only a few weeks into 2017, but already it’s been a year of women standing up, making noise and sticking it to the man.

It’s entirely fitting, then, that Holly Throsby – musician, author, and total boss lady – is releasing her fifth studio album,After A Time.

Even though After A Time has much more of a full-band energy than Throsby’s previous releases Team and A Loud Call, there’s a peacefulness to this album. It feels raw, honest and is easy to get lost in. You can’t help but wonder what it might sound like if Throsby really let go and channelled some anger into her vocals.

Standout tracks include first single ‘What Do You Say?’, featuring the dreamy vocals of Mark Kozelek (Sun Kil Moon, Red House Painters), and ‘’.

Some critics have been calling this Throsby’s strongest album yet, and they might just be right.

If this album had to be the soundtrack to a specific day in your life, it would unquestionably play behind a Sunday afternoon spent sitting in the sunshine, devouring rainbow Paddle Pops.

After A Timeis out Friday February 17 through Spunk.
