Mister Ott brings the funk back with a gig at Bar 505 as part of this year’s Fringe Festival.

Is it Ott in ‘ere? Sure is now that Mister Ott have announced a show at favoured locale Bar 505, as they take a break from writing and recording their upcoming new album.

Inspired especially by the mesmeric Eastern grooves of Ethiopian jazz, such as that of pioneers Mulatu Astatke and Getatchew Mekurya, Mister Ott have cultivated their memorable brand of funk over a number of gigs at the renowned Newtown venue, along with the release of their first record in 2015, the groovy instrumentalDrop It Like It’s Ott. With a seven-piece live outfit helmed by saxophonist Matthew Ottignon, you’d best loosen your straps, as it’s gonna be a funky ride through the realms of jazz, funk and African music.

Get funky with Mister Ott at Bar 505 on Saturday September 3, as part of this year’s annual Fringe Festival. Tickets available now from the Sydney Fringe Festivalwebsite.
