Music industry pioneer Roy Ayers has announced a one-off Sydney show this February, bringing his seminal neo-soul sound to punters at The Jam Gallery.

One of the most sampled artists in history, Ayers’ blending of jazz, soul and R&B can be heard in the work of artists such as Mary J. Blige and A Tribe Called Quest. Originally a vibraphonist, Ayers’ combination of smooth vocals and unique songwriting has made him a standout figure over the past four decades.

Ayers plays the Jam Gallery on Tuesday February 24, supported by Gang Of Brothers and Soul Of Sydney DJs. Tickets are $55 and available from Moshtix.
