Secret Garden has teased some details of its 2015 festival. All we know is it’s coming back over the weekend of Febuary 27 and 28, and that we will know more once all the tickets have sold out.

We don’t envy anyone working at Secret Garden… remaining tight lipped about one of Australia’s best loved “dickhead-free” festivals that consistently boasts lineups bursting at the seams with local talent cannot be easy.

On the plus side, it does retain an air of mystery, like a musical lucky dip for grown ups. Started in 2009 to raise money for meningococcal sufferers through the Sarah Hilt Foundation, it has continued to be an entirely volunteer-run festival with all bar and ticket proceeds distributed to a range of charities (in the past this has included Oxfam,Girls and Boys Brigade and The Sarah Hilt Foundation.)

As far as marketing strategies go, their “have no strategy” strategy is paying off… last year’s stages were graced by the likes of Oliver Tank, The Griswolds and The Preatures; in 2012 Owl Eyes and Sticky Fingers were both in attendance.

Then, of course, there are the costumes. Every attendee is encouraged to dress as whimsically as the fairy dust in the air will allow… whether this is pastel hair, fairy wings, an animal onesie or all of the above, the more abstract the better.

If you’re smart, you won’t tell anyone and snag a ticket for yourself. Oh, wait…

The Secret Garden Festival is being held from Friday February 27 to Saturday February 28, and tickets will be on sale 9am on Friday November 14 here.
