New South Wales’ largest indie arts fest, Sydney Fringe Festival, is celebrating its seventh birthday with what it’s labelled its largest and most dynamic program yet.

Sydney Fringe runs through the month of September, and will see over 300 productions crammed into 50 venues across the city – including the inaugural Off Broadway cultural precinct that will see pop-ups, performances and activations on an unused strip of Parramatta Road.

The huge program touches on theatre, music, comedy, visual art, film, musical theatre, dance, circus, literature and poetry, and kicks off with Fringe Ignite, the festival’s opening party, on Saturday September 3 along Darlinghurst’s Stanley Street.

“It’s time for the independent sector to stand up and say ‘party’, to celebrate the rich cultural offerings that are lovingly created throughout the city all year round,” says festival director Kerri Glasscock.

The 2016 Sydney Fringe also features some big names as ambassadors, including actorsCamilla Ah Kin,Paula Arundell andNicholas Brown, comedian Sam McCool and the Stone family: Yael (Orange Is The New Black), Elana(All Our Exes Live In Texas) and Jake (Bluejuice).
