Melbourne-based alt-pop band Zikoraare celebrating the release of their first single ‘Golden Thread’from their debut EP with a special launch gig.

The Golden ThreadEP was recorded atSing Sing Southstudios in Melbourne, andproduced and recorded by ARIA and Golden Guitar-nominated mixer and engineerJimi Maroudas (Kimbra, Eskimo Joe, Bertie Blackman).The title track tells the tale of an old woman who can mend broken hearts, and sonically draws on an eclectic range of influences including WestAfrican-inspired rhythms and musical theatre.

The record also features the talents offormer John Butler Trio bassist Andrew Fry, Xani Kolac of The Twoks, andMike MillsfromToehider.

Zikora celebrate the release of their EP and single at the Art Party Number 40on Friday February 26.
